The following story, His Plan, is a short story that was entered in the Writer's Of The Future Contest for the First Quarter of 2006, and finished as a Semifinalist.   By finishing as a Semifinalist, a critique was done for it by Kathy Wentworth, the Coordinating Judge of the contest, and has been included here with her kind permission.  To view the critique, click here.

The story is a hard-science story and also contains many religious references that might make some readers uneasy. I myself, am not a particularly religious person, but wrote the story the way it is because it fit.  I always try to write my stories the way they work best for me.

Also included is a revised version of the story, Humanity's Testament, which was submitted to both Analog, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and was rejected by both.  Not that getting two rejections makes it a bad story, or not worth submitting elsewhere, but the content of the story made me reconsider other submissions.  Because of that, I've decided to share both versions of the story here.  I've included links below for downloads of both versions of the story in PDF format, so read and enjoy!
